The Sinking Teeth

The Sinking Teeth started in a flat above a grubby pawn shop in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, built to soothe a common creative need between Julian Doan (Bass) and Nick Manuell (Guitar). It became something to focus on and something to take seriously. The blend of an abnormally wide range of influences shaped the sound of the band into a strange post punk mix of colour and crust. The release of their debut EP White Water in late 2013 put them on the road throughout Australia and New Zealand with a slew of noteworthy acts including Jimmy Eat World, Violent Soho, Bodyjar and Luca Brasi. They felt the enormity of the stage at The Forum in Melbourne, the intimacy of Ric’s Bar in Brisbane, and the harrowing reality of sometimes playing to no one in the middle of nowhere surrounded by spinifex and cattle.

After a short pause to record and regroup (insert the addition of drummer Adrian Van Bloom), Teeth independently released their debut full length Songs From The Bottom Of The Lake (SFTBOTL) in November 2016 to solid reviews, including a 3.5 star review in the December issue of Rolling Stone Australia.

Since completing two national tours in support of SFTBOTL, Teeth have now set their sights on releasing another album, and also prospects abroad. The band are looking to jump the ditch in 2017 to show the US and EU what they’re made of.
